Bill McDaniels

Bill McDaniels built a remarkable career in the automotive industry, but his greatest passion has always been helping others. His commitment to service, philanthropy, and community has touched countless lives and continues through the work of the foundation that bears his name.

Bill McDaniels has been a prominent figure in the automotive industry since 1969. Since 1989, he has served as the President, Owner, and Founder of McDaniels Automotive Group in South Carolina. The group includes McDaniels Acura of Columbia and Charleston, McDaniels Porsche, McDaniels Subaru, McDaniels Volkswagen, Audi Charleston, McDaniels Ford in Orangeburg, and McDaniels Acura of Newnan in Georgia. Bill is a former Chairman of The National Dealer Council and a member of the Honda Finance National Advisory Committee for Acura.

In 2011, Bill was honored as Fundraiser of the Year by the Association of Fundraising Professionals. In 2013, he received the Donor of the Year award from The Midlands Foundation for Foster Children. He has been an active member of the Columbia Executives and Owners Association for 19 years. Served as past President in 2009.

Bill's philanthropic efforts have earned him significant recognition. In 2014. he was awarded the prestigious Order of the Palmetto by former South Carolina Governor Nikki Haley, the state's highest civilian honor. He also received the Silver Leaf Award for Community Service from former Lt. Governor Andre Bauer.

Bill has dedicated six years of service to the Palmetto Health Hospital Cancer Board and the Palmetto Health Foundation and was inducted in the Palmetto Health Foundations Fellows for exemplary service, leadership, and personal commitment to the foundation.

Through his annual McDaniels Golf Classic and Gala, Bill has raised nearly $9 million to support the fight against cancer. Over the past six years, he has partnered with the Lexington Medical Cancer Foundation, raising close to $4.4 million.

McDaniels Subaru is a proud primary sponsor of Pawmetto Lifeline's Bark in the Park event, which supports the adoption of unwanted animals. Bill is also a dedicated supporter of the University of South Carolina's football, basketball, and baseball teams, as well as various community initiatives, including those benefiting Fort Jackson Army Base.

In 2023 Bill established the Bill McDaniels Foundation, which is a non-profit 501C3 and the benefactor would be children with cancer. Prisma Hospital has the only children's cancer hospital in the area. Our foundation location is 720 Old Clemson Road.

In addition to his automotive expertise, Bill is a licensed general contractor in North Carolina, South Carolina, and Georgia. He is also an active member and supporter of GraceLife Church in Columbia. Outside of his professional and philanthropic work, Bill enjoys spending time with his life partner, Suzanne Pucci, their dog and cat, Carmelo and Armani, as well as his son, Rob McDaniels, and his daughter, Tracey McDaniels-Miller. When he's not with family, you can often find Bill on the golf course.
